About Us

Our toffee has an origin that started almost 100 years ago. It was developed by Chet’s grandfather who was dairyman and connectionist. He started with small batches on the kitchen stove and poured it out in the bathtub (really!) to cool. He later began making larger batches in a commercial location.
Chet’s father, Dyke, learned the toffee making art in the 1950’s and later founded Dijkstra Huis Toffee. Chet has been involved in the toffee making most of his life and together with Lauri, his wife, continues the tradition of making a high quality, mouth watering toffee that our longtime customers have come to expect. We are committed to maintaining high standards in production and we add no preservatives to the ingredients.
We look forward to and appreciate every opportunity to serve our customers. We hope to hear from you.

About the product:

Each batch of toffee is made with same process established almost a century ago in our commercial candy kitchen, high in the mountains west of Fort Collins. We start our major production in October just in time for the holiday gift giving season. (Of course our fabulous toffee is available year round.) This way we can guarantee our product is delivered at its freshest possible state. We hand stir each batch. We use the highest quality of sweet cream butter, sugar and nuts to ensure a rich, smooth, delicious toffee every time. We cover each batch with a layer of chocolate and ground nuts to maximize the eating enjoyment. Next, we hand pack each box and make ready to sell at shows or ship to anxious recipients.
Our toffee is a terrific year round gift, especially during the holiday season.
